Production Design

Mateja Medvedič graduated from Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana, Slovenia.  Since 1997 she works as an independent  production designer for film and TV.

As a Production designer she gave form to numerous Slovene and foreign films, TV shows and commercials. She collaborates with various Production houses as Bas Production, Division Productions for foreign commercials,  for film she collaborates with RTV Slovenia, Casablanca film production, Filmservis, Blade Production and many others.

In 2004 she received national award ‘Vesna’ at the 7th Slovene Film Festival for best Art Direction.

Architectural Critique

Since 1999 Mateja Medvedič works as an independent architecture critic and writer. Her articles and interviews on architecture, art and built environment have been published in Slovene and foreign architectural magazines, catalogues, on television and in web media.

From 1999 to 2001 she worked at RTV Slovenia, Slovene national broadcasting service at Studio City weekly cultural program and contributed her work at editorial department for Culture from 2008-2009. She was a co-editor of the Slovene-Croatian architecture magazine ‘Oris’. She was a regular contributor of ‘Ambient’ magazine from 1999–2007.

Currently she edits architectural section of a Slovene-Australian web magazine ‘Sloveniana’ within the web portal thezaurus.com. In 2014 she had the honor to be a member of jurors for Slovene national architecture award “Plečnik’s Award for Architecture”. Medvedič is a member of the Committee of Experts of the European Prize for Urban Public Space since the 2014 award.
